## Petrochemical Industry FIBC Requirements

The petrochemical industry is one of the largest users of FIBC bags globally, packaging polymer resins, plastic granules, chemical intermediates, and industrial chemicals. The specific requirements of petrochemical applications demand specialized bag designs that go beyond standard FIBC specifications.

## Anti-Static FIBC Bags for Flammable Materials

Many petrochemical products are flammable or explosive when in powder or granule form. Standard PP FIBC bags can accumulate static electricity during filling and discharge, creating ignition risks.

Type C (Conductive) FIBC bags contain a grid of conductive threads woven into the fabric, connected to the lifting loops. The bag must be grounded during use to dissipate static charges. Used for Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas.

Type D (Dissipative) FIBC bags contain special dissipative threads that prevent static accumulation without requiring grounding. Used for Zone 2 areas where grounding is impractical.

Both types are tested and certified according to IEC 61340-4-4 and EN 13463 standards.

## High-Temperature Applications

Polymer resins are often filled at elevated temperatures (60-80 degrees Celsius) directly from the polymerization reactor. High-temperature FIBC bags use specially formulated PP fabric with enhanced thermal stability, maintaining full load-bearing capacity at temperatures up to 80 degrees Celsius.

## Carbon Black Packaging

Carbon black is an extremely fine, highly conductive powder used in rubber and plastic manufacturing. FIBC bags for carbon black require Type C or Type D anti-static construction, dust-tight coating, inner PE liner for additional barrier, and dark-colored fabric to hide contamination for cleaner handling.
